It is located on the north-eastern edge of Stari Sanzhary village, Stari Sanzhary Village Council, Novi Sanzhary district, Poltava region, 2.5 km to the north-east from the village, in Horodok natural landmark, in the middle of the road to Bulanove village, Poltava district.
It was surveyed by L. B. Padalka (1901), V. H. Liaskoronskyi (the beginning of 19th c.), I. I. Liapushkin (1960), O.V. Sukhobokov (1971
The fortified settlement occupies the spur of the right root bank of the Vorskla River. The square has the area of 700 – 800 sq. m., which was fortified by the breastwork form the south-western part. Beyond the fortification there were 20 banks of kurgans that have currently been ploughed.
The findings from the fortified settlement are small in numbers and undistinguished, containing material from Romen moulded and Old Russian dishes,
4th –3rd millennium BC, 10th –11th, 11th – 13th cc., the Scythian times, Romen culture, the Kyivan Rus period.
